My name is Allan Collins. I am a Colorado native — raised on a small cattle ranch in my rural little area of the state. Today, I’m a remote (work from home) software developer. I am happily married to a lovely woman named Kami. Together, we have a daughter, Addison, and a lazy orange tabby we call Geo.
Why is this blog a thing?
I’m not a writer. At least that’s what I tell myself.
Back in 2008, I felt like I was missing the boat when it came to not having a blog. I tried to come up with thoughtful ways to get people to my site. In fact, I was so desperate that I held a contest on Twitter for a $25 Amazon gift card. After a few tutorials and random check-in posts, I pretty much neglected it.
In the Summer of 2019, for no apparent reason at all and five years after my last — I began to write. I started with some of my thoughts. Next sentences became paragraphs. What I produced actually made sense and sounded genuine. Almost as if it captured my true voice for the first time.
Will this blogging thing be an ongoing thing?
I have no idea.
